The previuos note show that there is positive relationship between democracy and economic development. The increasing in economic development should goes to the economic growth and welfare, then lead to reducing poverty.
If we see the democracy in Indonesia, it was expanded but the implication is not better than the expansion. In the New Era, we do not capable or we cant free to give a comment/ some opinion, there is limitation for the public to deliver their opinion. But in democracy, we have a right to give comment as the public have. However, we often forget that right and obligation should be equal, and other peoples also have their right.
Based on the theory, the anarchy led to corruption because of roving banditry while democracy do not. But in fact (indonesia as the case), democracy that was exist more than 1 decades in political Indonesia do not capable to reduce the evel of corruption in Indonesia, even seems to extend the corruption.
Democracy is a part of capitalism which has Gold Glory and Gospel as the targets. Its adopt free entreprise and there is competition, a rich people become richer and poor people become poorer since the citizen has significantly diferrent skill and opportunity to compete each other. Even the wage of unskill labor (poor people) increase, it will not increase greater than or as well as the wage of skill labor increase, so they are still poor in the real life.
The increasing in economic growth doesnt implies that there is increasing in welfare and income distribution. The main problem is there is no equality in skills and opportunities since the wages for skill labor and unskill labor is different. There is a gap or inequality income between a rich one and a poor one. That’s why poverty in Indonesia still not decline as well as economic growth increase.
